XCode : Couldn’t register com.XYZABC.deviceapp with the bootstrap server

This is the solution for the XCode deviceapp bootstrap error. More after the jump…

So I came accross a really weird XCode bug. When I try to run the application in the device simulator I get the error :

Couldn't register com.XXXXX.deviceapp with the bootstrap server. Error: unknown error code.  This generally means that another instance of this process was already running or is hung in the debugger. Program received signal:  “SIGABRT”.

And no matter how often you hit the “Step over” or “continue” or “disable debug session” IT WILL NOT WORK !!!

I still have no clue why this is caused. I tried quitting the app and restarting it. Clean & Build the app. Everything. But both the device and simulator do not work but stall.

SOLUTION :

For simulator : Restart your machine.
For device : Shut down and restart the device.

If anyone figures out why this happens or has a different solution to the problem, feel free to post in a comment below 🙂
